![]() F.A.Q. Do you have a song list I can choose from? Yes, and we can email the list if you would like. When is the payment for services due and what methods of payment do you take? A signed contract and $100 deposit is required to hold the date. The deposit applies to the balance. The balance is due by the date of the reception. We accept checks, money orders and cash. We can accept credit cards through paypal.com How soon before the event will you arrive? We like to get into the venue 1.5 to 2 hours before scheduled start time. Does DJ Mark take breaks? Nope. From the time the event starts until the end Mark will be available. Can I choose music to be played at my event? Absolutely! You can meet with DJ Mark to request as much or as little as you'd like. Requests are taken during the actual event as well. Can I tell you specific songs I don't want played? Yes! And if guests request songs you asked NOT to be played, we will honor YOUR request. Do you have backup equipment? Yes, we bring extra equipment in case of mechanical problems. Do you have references I can contact? Yes, upon request. Do you provide a written contract for your services? Yes, I send two-one to be signed and returned with a deposit and the other to keep for your records. How much are your DJ services? Wedding Receptions are $650 for up to five hours of DJ time. We do not charge for set-up and take down. Other events depend on the date and scope of the event. What services cost extra? For wedding receptions, each hour after five hours is $75. Travel fees will apply if the reception is more than 30 miles from downtown Columbus. Events that require more than four speakers will have extra fees, the amount depending on the size of the event. Are you insured? Yes, we have liability insurance. Do you use computer or CD player? We are using CDs and a laptop. We bring about 3,000 songs on CD, with the rest on the hard drive of the laptop. Will the DJ take requests from our guest? Yes we will. We make that announcement and we have a request book available. Do you use any additional sound systems, theatrical lighting, or special effects? We have DJ lighting, which is included in the charge. Larger sound systems (more than four speakers) area available for the extra large events. Are there any special needs for the DJs equipment that we need to provide? For wedding receptions, a 6 to 8 foot skirted table located near an electrical outlet is needed. For other events we would request that the table match the décor of the rest of the event. What happens if DJ Mark gets sick or some tragic event happens in their life, do we have a backup? That has never happened but arrangements with other reputable DJs have been established. You would also get your event DJ’d for free. DJ Mark would cover the cost of the replacement DJ. Does the DJ need to be fed at my wedding reception? It is not necessary but Mark would appreciate it, given that from the time he starts setting up to when he drives away is usually 8+ hours. What does the DJ wear? DJ Mark dresses to the event. For weddings, typically a dark suit and tie.
